Day 266 - Purple pansies

Is there anything more refreshing after months of white or dead to see bright beautiful color?

28.3.11

Day 265 - Painting the sky

My kids love when we see one of these because it "paints the sky."

25.3.11

Day 264 - Majesties

When I look at these I think of the song line "For purple mountain majesties... God shed his grace on thee" What a wonderful thing to be able to look out my window and see this! I often take them for granted, but whenever I travel abroad and see miles after miles of flat land (not to mention a bit of struggle finding my location without my personal landmarks) I am so grateful for these beauties.

24.3.11

Day 263 - Holes

Interesting point of view. Sometimes taking a different perspective makes all the difference.

23.3.11

Day 262 - He's crafty

This child begs me daily (and multiple times a day at that) to cut, glue, color, thread, paint, or tape something. He loves to make things (aka scraps of cut, glued, or taped paper that I will later throw away because they are strewn about the house constantly or worse taped on to furniture, walls, or ceilings.) Today, I let him make magazine beads. This is cut up strips of old magazines that you glue and roll on a pencil or marker to form "beads" and then later string on some yarn. (Notice the lovely necklace hanging from his neck) This equals hours of fun and it nicely contained the papers for easy disposal later.

22.3.11

Day 261 - This Bud's for you

I saw these buds forming and I couldn't resist. I love the lines and the color with the bright blue backdrop.

21.3.11

Day 260 - Waffles

There is a little Belgium waffle shop downtown that makes authentic Belgium waffles. (I have posted about them before) We simply love them. But over the years we have been going there, the prices have slowly gone up, not to mention it is out of the way. So in an attempt to recreate their divine goodness, we have begun our "waffle quest", to find a recipe that most resembles our favorite guilty pleasure. Attempt number one: Tasty, rich, but overwhelmingly buttery (husband used 2 sticks of butter!) Must keep looking. If you know of a good one (one that requires rising the dough), send it my way.

18.3.11

Day 259 - Spring is in the air

These little beauties hearld in a warmer season. If only the weather would pay attention and stop snowing.

17.3.11

Day 258 - Too cute

She was sitting on the couch in her princess costume with her piggies in the air that I just had to nab a photo.

16.3.11

Day 257 - Anticipation

I loved this picture of them all waiting to see if the shot would go in. (For the record... it didn't, but they still won the game!)

15.3.11

Day 256 - Mittens

Snow, Snow Go away!

14.3.11

Day 255 - Still here

We're still here.

9.3.11

Day 254 - White out

Playing in a little blinding white snow on a sunny day.

8.3.11

Day 253 - Winter white

After spending the weekend in 77 degree weather, this just wasn't an appealing welcome home present.

7.3.11

Day 252 - Fairy Tale Ending

After a weekend of fun, she had her Happily ever after by meeting her absolute favorite princess (Why Snow White is anybody's guess. Personally, there is something about that voice that takes her out of the running for one of my favorites) However, this girl was down right giddy at the sight of her.

5.3.11

Day 251 - A hand to hold

When you have a very active 2 year old, it is nice to have a very helpful 7 year old. We are considering renting him for the weekends. Whenever she would take off, he was always there to catch her. She repaid him with sloppy kisses and hugs, which I don't think he was particularly excited about.

4.3.11

Day 250 - Tuckered out

After two full days of overstimulation, she was tuckered out by 3 p.m. The little badge she is wearing says "1st time visit", which made the fact that she was sleeping somewhat ironic.

3.3.11

Day 249 - Little doors for little people

Checking to see if the Mad Hatter is home. The size was just about right for her.

1.3.11

Day 248 - So tired

I found him like this on the couch. Not the most comfortable position, but when you are so tired it doesn't really matter.
