As we near another election and political discussions heat up, this picture stood out to me. It really is a beautiful building with such a nobel goal. It is a shame that not everyone under this dome shares that same goal.

Day 137 - Harvest moon
Apparently last night was a "Super Harvest Moon". The first one in 20 years. What makes this one so special is that it coincided with the autumnal equinox. If you believe in myths, this is the day Persephone, the queen of the underworld returns to the live with her husband Hades, as well as the day that there is a "special" gravitational pull on the Earth which allows an egg to balance on its point. Regardless, the moon looked super eerie last night with the clouds. What an excellent prelude to my favorite season.

Day 136 - Before and After
So Operation Potty is underway. Every thing I read said day one is the worst. (I wouldn't disagree, but I suppose there is always tomorrow.)
These were two of the funniest pictures I took. When he saw me take my camera out, he cozied up to his sister. all smiles, until...

This.

Yes, that wet stream running under her would be another failed attempt of operation potty train.

Day 135 - Operation Potty
Tomorrow we start Operation potty. My 2 and 1/2 year is in desperate need of this considering the following: 1. She can change her own diaper (not well, but she still tries) 2. She has successfully used the potty on several occasions (But only once daily, apparently that was her limit.) 3. Diapers are expensive and we are out of them currently and I am too stubborn to buy more.

Day 132 - Raspberries
There is no fruit that I love more than raspberries and being able to eat them year round is heaven. I love to pick or purchase these babies in the summer and then freeze them so they can be enjoyed year-round or made into jam. (They usually don't make it much past Januaury. Perhaps I should double my crop.)

Day 131 - Wardrobe malfunction
I think the following photos make it pretty obvious that my child has absolutely no fashion sense and/or should not be allowed to dress herself.

Interesting sidenote: This outfit was removed and changed by myself and then later reassembled in this exact configuration by this child after each article was put away in hidden locations. She found them all!

Day 128 - Reading Time
I love this shot of the three of them reading. I cropped it close because I just felt like I was missing out on the little kiddies from wider view and I really wanted the focal point to be the books. I wanted it to feel more inviting and personal and less distracted by background. Interesting reading selections too I might add, a Rick Steve's travel book, Time Magazine, and I Spy Halloween. Now you decide who is reading what.

Day 121 - Lizard's tails

These little creatures were all over the place. After throwing a little doubt at the possibility of him catching one, our friend caught one for the kiddies to enjoy. Poor thing probably is still having nightmares of their friendly petting, but what a great way for them to experience nature up close and personal.

Day 119 - Sunflowers

We made our way South this weekend. This shot was taken on the way and in a moving car no less. I love the textures of the "wheat" that almost look like brush strokes. I must have never made this trip at this particular time of the year before, because I was amazed at the amount of sunflowers that dotted the highway. There were even large pastures full of them and often times with cows or horses grazing among them.
