I decided I would try another parenting experiment (I mean isn't that what parenting is about anyway, experimentation?) I thought I would investigate varying amounts of sleep in my little one (ex. long nap, short nap, no nap, etc.) Today, I made it my personal mission to keep that girl awake all day, no naps. Oh, she was tired, I was tired, but we kept going. We got ready for bed earlier than normal and by 7 p.m., this child of mine passed out. I could not even wake her. This is the first night in sooo long that I have had some down time, some me time before I needed to go to bed. I may be paying for this later tonight or early tomorrow, but right now with my Root beer and Junior mints I don't care. It feels marvelous!

ReplyDeleteWait, are the root beer and Jr Mints for you or to help A stay awake all day?
ReplyDeleteShe wishes! They are all mine!
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you. I need at least two hours to unwind after my kids go to bed, otherwise I don't feel I have enough me time.
ReplyDeleteYou so need to talk to Megan. She has Hannah who is a twin daughter of a different Monther to your A. Makes me wonder what you were like as a small child. . . . .karma is a b--ch
ReplyDeleteThat last comment sounded harsh. Not that you deserve the challenges A is giving you, but sometimes that "wink from God" comes in the form of a willful child.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am sure it is all karma in some form or another. Not when it comes to sleeping though. I slept through the night at 2 weeks on. I was the child who would leave a party early to go to sleep. No New Year's for me, I like my sleep too much. That is why this refusal to sleep is such a foreign thing for me. Who doesn't want to sleep? I just can't relate to the child. It must be pay back for those teenage years instead...
