Day 5 - School of fish

I mentioned how the blog was to be a learning experience, today was definitely proof of that. I took the kids to the aquarium, imagining myself taking magical shots of sea life and looks of wonder on my children's faces. It didn't quite work out that way. With my old camera, I had figured out little tricks and maneuvers to make for better pictures, I am not familiar yet with those for this camera. That and the fact that it was insanely crowded today and taking moving shots (kids and fish) is not my forte yet. Any suggestions for camera settings in darker areas with moving shots where I can avoid using the flash? I think this photo was taken using "Night portrait", which used a flash but somehow managed to not glare off the glass like it did in other shots.

  1. I like your new blog. What kind of camera did you get? Mike wants to sell our video camera to get a really nice camera.

  2. We got the Canon rebel T1i. (We liked it because it takes HD video too. If you do decide on a camera, I recommend checking out Pictureline. We found a really good deal at Costco on this camera and Pictureline not only beat the price, but upgraded our SD card and camera case. Plus they offer free classes.
