I mentioned how the blog was to be a learning experience, today was definitely proof of that. I took the kids to the aquarium, imagining myself taking magical shots of sea life and looks of wonder on my children's faces. It didn't quite work out that way. With my old camera, I had figured out little tricks and maneuvers to make for better pictures, I am not familiar yet with those for this camera. That and the fact that it was insanely crowded today and taking moving shots (kids and fish) is not my forte yet. Any suggestions for camera settings in darker areas with moving shots where I can avoid using the flash? I think this photo was taken using "Night portrait", which used a flash but somehow managed to not glare off the glass like it did in other shots.

Day 4 - If april showers bring May flowers, what does snow bring?
Which shot do you like better? (I couldn't decide)
Rain I can handle, but snow? It is hard to tell from this shot, but it was snowing. Little fluffy wisps that melted as soon as they hit the grass. (It stuck later and then melted and then stuck and then melted...) She loved going out in the snow, trying to catch the little bits on her tongue and twirling in it arms out stretched.

Day 3 - April showers bring May flowers
Today I awoke to the pounding rain outside my window. My first thought was, "It's going to be one of those days!" It was so gloomy. The dreary weather was effecting us all especially my oldest. He spent most of the morning in time-outs for various offenses to his sister, property, and general smart mouthiness. After the rain stopped, we went outside to check for earthworms... none to be found. However, we did find some beautiful flowers lightly speckled with drops of rain. I was hesitant to include this picture today because it seems like pictures like these are a dime a dozen, but considering the mood the day had started, something bright and beautiful was a nice way to end it.

Day 2 - The carousel
The lights, the music, the hypnotic pull of the merry-go-round. His fascination with this carousel was captivating to me. He watched it almost as if it was an entertaining movie. As an adult, I couldn't find it more mundane, but seeing it through his eyes made it somehow new again. What a boring existence life would be without new eyes with which to see!
